Waitress Gets Called N-Word in “Tip” Section, Then Gets Fired for Posting Receipt

A server working at a Red Lobster restaurant in an affluent suburb of Nashville, Tennessee was subjected to a racist jibe after customers left the words “none ni**er” in the tip section of the check.

Toni Christina Jenkins, who is nineteen, was in the middle of her shift at the seafood restaurant in Franklin and serving a couple of customers who racked up a $45 bill during their afternoon meal.

When the time came to pay the check, Miss Jenkins, who is training to be a nurse, found the racist insult written on the couple’s receipt.

In a dark added twist, Red Lobster suspended the server after she posted pictures of the receipt online.

As if you don’t have enough to read, this blogger does some really good stuff. Mostly re-blogs items and sends maybe a dozen a day, but many of them are right on target. The one below left out a wonderful piece of the original story. It identified the man who wrote the words instead of leaving a tip. Great quote: “Anyone know Devin Barnes in Franklin, Tennessee ….” Although the woman got fired from the restaurant for posting the receipt on her Facebook page, I bet she’ll benefit in many other ways.

Soooo…. it’s okay to abuse those who provide us with service, while they are let go for feeling some type of way about being abused? Hmmm.
