Apple Holds More Cash Reserve than Treasury Department

Apple fanboys, rejoice: The BBC has reported that Apple, the company behind the iPad, iPhone, and iPod, has more cash on hand than the United States government.

Apple’s quarterly financial report shows that the company has $76.4 billion in reserve cash. The Treasury Department is sitting on $73.7 billion.

While the United States is struggling – and very near catastrophic default – Apple has continued to fare well, even in the current recession.

Final Harry Potter Movie To Reach $1 Billion Today

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is the first film in the Potter franchise to reach $1 billion worldwide.

Deathly Hallows 2 will cross the milestone today, having grossed nearly $300 million domestically and over $600 million overseas.

Until now, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was the top grossing film in the franchise, having grossed $974.8 million worldwide in 2001.
